Antalya vs Dalaman: which Turkish airport for a cheap holiday?
Updated October 2026 · by the HopCheap team
Both airports serve Turkey's south coast and both have lots of summer flights from the UK. Which one is better depends on the holiday you want.
Antalya (AYT)
- One of Turkey's busiest airports, with flights from most UK airports and a longer season — some routes run in winter.
- Gateway to Lara, Belek (golf), Side, Alanya and Kemer — big all-inclusive resorts and lots of competition, which can keep prices down.
- Antalya's old town (Kaleiçi) makes a good budget city base.
Dalaman (DLM)
- Mostly a summer airport (roughly April–October).
- Serves Fethiye, Ölüdeniz, Hisarönü, Göcek, Dalyan and Marmaris — greener, more scenic, more independent travel and boat trips.
- Transfers to Marmaris or Ölüdeniz are around 1–1.5 hours.
Quick verdict
- Cheapest all-inclusive, wide choice: Antalya.
- Scenery, villas, boat days, quieter towns: Dalaman.
- Shoulder or winter trips: Antalya, because more flights operate.
Tips
Compare both airports for your dates — prices swing a lot by week. British citizens can currently visit Turkey visa-free for up to 90 days in 180 (check FCDO advice). Don't miss Istanbul on a budget.
